green film award / Cinema for Peace

ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY ESSENTIAL FOR GLOBAL PEACE

On the occasion of the annual CINEMA FOR PEACE Gala 2010 there will be one movie or project honored with the CINEMA FOR PEACE International Green Film Award. This “Green Oscar” highly accentuates the essential ecological awareness and commitment of filmmakers worldwide for our planet. The Pope emphasized in his traditional New Year address the connection between green issues and peace and called people to change their lifestyles to save the planet, saying environmental responsibility is essential for global peace. ‘I would like to underline the importance of the choices of individuals … in preserving the environment’.
